2012...
Tekfen Construction completed the
work it had begun seven years earlier
at SAMIR, Morocco’s sole refinery.
Tekfen’s first work in the country had
been a highway project in 2004. This
was followed by projects like the
SAMIR Refinery, a DAP Fertilizer Plant,
and a Phosphate Slurry Pipeline, all of
which made Morocco an important
part of Tekfen’s worldwide activities.

Archeological work at the Ziyaret Tepe Tumulus
to the southeast of Bismil, Diyarbakır, which will
soon be inundated by a new dam, continues at full
speed with the contribution of Tekfen. Ziyaret Tepe
is a door to the Assyrian civilization. Finds from
the excavations provide important clues to this
advanced civilization.

The platform topsides, jointly built by Tekfen
and Azfen, rise like monuments and are a true
source of pride.
Azfen was founded as a partnership between
SOCAR and Tekfen in 1996, and in its 20th
year, the company continues to contribute to
Azerbaijan’s future.
