30-Year Travelers of the
60-Year Journey
“Age 35. Half the journey,” the poet says. There are more than a few members of the Tekfen family
who have made half the journey, having spent 30 years or more at the company. We asked the most
senior member of each group what it meant for them to be a member of Tekfen.
For me, Tekfen is a family and a school. I
think I learned everything I know at Tek-
fen. Before I began working here, I had no
idea what Commercial Law, Deed Law, or
Zoning Regulations were all about. I really
learned everything here. I owe a lot to
Tekfen. That’s why I wish good health to
our superiors and hope Tekfen will always
be there. Mr. Atila Purut taught me a lot,
as did Mr. Ümit Özülkü and Mr. Ersöz
Demirel... I learned everything I know
from them. Naturally, I owe a lot to them
as well. I wish them good health, and I
wish success to our new friends.

Tekfen is like a bridge between
past and present, a gem among
Turkish corporations. I have
been on and off part of the
Tekfen family for the last 40
years, maybe more. We’ve been
through a lot together and
made it to this day. Tekfen for
me is a lifetime, quality, suc-
cess and looking towards the
future with confidence.
When I first began working 35 years ago, my priority was
to work at a leading multinational construction company,
and I attained that goal with Tekfen. With time, I found
out that Tekfen was a big family and came to understand
its culture much better. Tekfen has also been a school for
me where everyone was able to improve themselves. The
first lesson I learned was that no matter how many years
you have worked at any given position in Tekfen, aware-
ness is always key. Diversity for example of ideas, points of
view, culture can enrich your social and professional life.
This gives you and your company an opportunity for im-
provement. Working together with people of different na-
tionalities, cultures, age groups, and professions is a big
opportunity if you are open to diversity. I believe this is
one of the most effective ways of making your allegiance
and inner motivation sustainable. Being a member of the
Tekfen family is a privilege.
