A FIRST IN SLURRY

PIPELINE

Built for the Phosphate

Slurry Pipeline Project

between Khouribga and

Jorf Lasfar in Morocco,

the slurry pipeline was

the first of its kind in

the world, with a 36”

diameter and a length

of 180 km.

2014

A WORLD RECORD

Tekfen Construction connected

a 56”, 2000-meter pipeline

in 14 hours, using 5 welding

stations and 16 welders

executing a total of 145 welds,

which broke a remarkable

world record difficult to match.

2016

A FIRST IN SEEDLING PRODUCTION

Good Seed and Plant Practices (GSPP) were

adopted for the first time in Turkey at the Hishtil-

Toros greenhouses in order to supply farmers

with healthier seedlings. Hishtil-Toros continues

to be among the world leaders in this field.

THE FIRST LEED

CERTIFICATE

free man-hours at the ACG

(Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli)

THE FIRST GONG SOUNDS FOR TEKFEN

Tekfen Holding shares began to be

traded at the İstanbul Stock Exchange on

November 23, 2007, and the first session of

the day was opened by the gong sounded

by Erhan Öner, President of Tekfen Group

of Companies. This was also the first gong

ceremony ever at the Stock Exchange.

THE FIRST PLATFORM

TOPSIDE

The platform topside erected

by Tekfen in Baku was the first

such project undertaken by

a Turkish contractor. Tekfen

gained extensive knowhow

in this field by building more

platforms in following years

and currently exports platform

modules to Brazil.

2005

THE WORLD’S LARGEST

CRUDE OIL TANKS

The tank farm built by Tekfen for

Kuwait Petroleum Company awes

visitors with its size. The biggest

of their kind, each tank is larger

than a soccer field. Eight such

tanks have been built, each with a

capacity of 618,000 barrels.

2006

A NEW APPROACH TO

OFFICE BUILDINGS

Tekfen Tower, İstanbul’s

first smart A+ Office

project, was opened in

2003. It was also the

first building in İstanbul

to allow “Immediate

Occupancy” after an

earthquake.

TURKEY’S BIGGEST STADIUM

Built by Tekfen in 2002, the İstanbul Atatürk

Olympic Stadium was the biggest in Turkey,

with a seating capacity of 80 thousand.
