Contract for New Motorway Project in Qatar

Haz 30, 2020

Tekfen Construction, which has been continuously active in Qatar since 2005 in the field of contractorship for infrastructure, industrial facility and motorway projects, has added a new item to its portfolio. Tekfen's construction arm has now won a contract worth 548 million Qatari Riyals (approx. 150 million US Dollars) from Ashghal, the Qatari Public Works Authority, regarding the building of access roads for the Al Khor Expressway. The project is scheduled for completion in 24 months.

Levent Kafkaslı, Tekfen Holding's Vice President in charge of the Contracting Group, said the following with regard to the acquisition of the new project: "Adding new projects to one's portfolio is indispensable for a contractor, and an event of this kind is always greeted with great pleasure. Maintaining employment security is our first priority in these difficult times, and the confidence placed in us by ASHGHAL, one of our major employers, is a source of great satisfaction and encouragement for us. From this point on, our fundamental duty will be to safeguard the health of our employees - something we do in all construction sites- and with this responsibility in mind to take maximum precautions in all areas, thus providing a secure working environment. My wish - on behalf of the entire construction and contracting sector - is that the stagnation currently being experienced globally owing to the COVID-19 epidemic may gradually give way to a renewal of activity."
