On the occasion of itstwentieth anniversary, the Tekfen Foundation added a new strand to its support for classical music and education by launching a Music Scholarship Programme. The Programme is open for students of music who have chosen orchestral playing as their future career, and plan to study in a university abroad.
Following the auditions held on 19 June, two students won the scholarship. Yunus Altıkanat, a cellist who completed his high school education at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and will enroll study at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin; and Seyfi Can Dağlar, a bassoon player graduate of the Mersin University State Conservatory, and who has been accepted tothe Hochschule für Musik 'Hanns Eisler', also in Berlin.
We congratulate both young musicians Yunus and Seyfi Can on their success, and wish them further success throughout their university carreer as well!
