Tekfen Agri and Sabancı University Co-operate over Innovation

Tekfen Agri, one of Turkey's leading companies in the area of agricultural production, has signed an agreement with the Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM), one of Turkey's major research centers, foreseeing co-operation between the two with regard to research and development activities focusing on agriculture and the development of new technologies.

Tekfen Agri General Manager Emrah İnce said: "We have complete faith in this country's land, and people. We are investing in our country's future with the technology we have at our disposal, and with our human resources - people of experience. In engaging in high-technology R&D activities with SUNUM, our aim is to take on a leading role in the agricultural sector. I believe that this co-operation will strengthen us, and combining our own experience with that of SUNUM will create a synergy that will have great impact."

SUNUM Director Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan, meanwhile, said: "This co-operation between SUNUM and Tekfen Agri will result in a high yield of socioeconomic added value for Turkey in the realm of agricultural production - this being one of those fields in which development is set to gather momentum in the coming years."
