Tekfen Construction has signed the Third Lot of the Trans Anatolia Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Project for USD565 million.
TANAP will bring the natural gas from Shah Deniz - Stage 2 in Azerbaijan to Turkey and will carry it to Europe; the companies to carry out the land pipeline construction have been selected. As a result of the tender for the 56-inch land pipeline construction for Lot 1, Lot 2, and Lot 3, Tekfen Construction, a Tekfen Holding company, has signed an agreement for Lot 3.
The 590-km long Lot 3 is, is scheduled for completion in 36 months.
At the Turkish-Georgian border, TANAP begins in the Türkgözü village of Posof, Ardahan, traversing 20 provinces - Ardahan, Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt, Gümüşhane, Giresun, Sivas, Yozgat, Kırşehir, Kırıkkale, Ankara, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Kütahya, Bursa, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, and Tekirdağ - and ends on the Turkish-Greek border at Ipsala, Edirne.
TANAP will begin carrying gas in 2018 with an initial load of 16 billion cubic meters per year, gradually going up to 24 billion and then to 31 billion cubic meters.
